The ‘Terror Twins’ are here. Wolfenstein: Youngblood is out this week, welcoming back its signature cocktail of guns, gore, and fascist beat-downs. Bethesda has unleashed the official launch trailer for Wolfenstein: Youngblood, showcasing the twins Jess and Soph Blazkowicz as they track down their missing father in 1980’s Paris. 

If I’m being brutally honest, this is perhaps the weakest of the Youngblood trailers we’ve seen yet, although the previous set a mighty high bar. We get a little look at an aging B.J. Blazkowicz, plenty of silly ultra-violence, and the sort of co-op antics that make me wish Perfect Dark Zero hadn’t been such a terrible let-down. Curveball I know, but we don’t get many co-op shooters these days so we lament the ones that suck. That doesn’t look to be the case for Wolfenstein: Youngblood though, it’s going to blow. Wait, no, that doesn’t work.

I’m doing it a disservice though, Youngblood’s looking awesome, delivering AAA co-op action that doesn’t revolve around endless loot grinds. Have no fear though, for solo players can get their fill too. W: YB’s campaign is fully playable both solo (with an AI partner) or co-operatively.

The co-op focus of Youngblood means we’ll be getting a game that’s a little lighter on story elements, making up for this with a non-linear mission structure, open-ended world, and quests, glorious quests.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood is out tomorrow on PC and Friday, July 26th, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
