Cyberpunk 2077 Gameplay Length - How Long Does It Take to Complete?

What is the Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay length? How long does it take to complete Cyberpunk 2077?

After a long development cycle and several delays, Cyberpunk 2077 is almost upon us and, knowing developer CD Projekt Red’s penchant for long titles, many players are wondering about the RPG’s gameplay length.

The developer has repeatedly said that it is building a deep and complex RPG, so it’s safe to assume that anyone other than hardcore speedrunners will spend a good number of hours exploring Night City and the Badlands.

That being said, in September 2020, after a Night City Wire episode, Senior Quest designer Patrick Mills confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 won’t be as long as Witcher 3 for those players who only target its main story, describing it as “slightly shorter”.

That’s not particularly helpful in terms of figuring out exactly how long Cyberpunk 2077 is, but existing data lets us speculate.

According to website HowLongToBeat, a main story run of The Witcher 3 takes around 50 hours, so we can expect Cyberpunk to potentially take less than that.

But optional content, playstyle and quest choices can and most likely will impact the Cyberpunk 2077 game length for each player.

This is why it’s rather tough to pinpoint or even approximate exactly how long CP 2077 will be, at least before getting a taste of the game ourselves.

On the other end of the spectrum, CD Projekt Red Quality Assurance Lead ?ukasz Babiel has spent as much as 175 hours in Cyberpunk 2077.

He does, however, note that this number comes from a slow-paced playthrough on the game’s highest difficulty, in which he plays “more stealthy than usual” and makes use of everything the game has to offer, while also possibly looking for bugs.

Even if few of us will play through the RPG with the mindset of a QA Lead, this serves as at least some proof that it won’t suffer from a lack of content.

Cyberpunk 2077 launches on December 10, and is headed to PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and Google Stadia.

Here’s what we know about multiplayer, preload availability and map size.
